Comments for: Elizabeth Heinrich Behrends Kleen
Elizabeth's maiden name, Behrends, and the married name of
Schumann for her daughter Ettje show a possible
         relationship.
Ettje's husband, Lammert [Lambert] Schumann, appears in
the 1860 US Census for Fayette Co., TX. There, at age 12, he
is living with his mother, likely a widowed daughter in a
household headed by Henry Behrends, age 78, that includes a
male, Seebert [sic] Behrends, age 31.
Evidence for a Kleen-Behrends-Schumann relationship finds
support in their same origin from the Westerholt region of
Ostfriesland. There, a record of the marriage of Adde
Hermann Kleen to his second wife mentions his first marriage
to Elizabeth Behrends. The next entry is for the marriage of
a Jann Siebens Behrends. Seiben's age corresponds to the age
of "Seebert" in the US Census entry.
Cf. the Comments for Lammert B. Schumann.
