| has been a student of naval and maritime history for many years. His previous books, Warships of the Civil War Navies, U.S. Warships of World War I, U.S. Warships of World War II, U.S. Warships Since 1945, and Directory of the World's Capital Ships have received acclaim from a variety of respected sources. He is presently working on a series of books describing the warships and auxiliaries of the United States Navy from its inception to the present. It is his intention to write a book on Aliyah Bet which will amplify the story including the organizers and politics of the subject. Paul met with many of the men of Aliyah Bet at their 50th reunion held in Haifa, Israel, in May 1997. He writes the quarterly column on naval news for Warship International, journal of the International Naval Research Organization (INRO). He is a member of the Steamship Historical Society of America, the World Ship Society and is Treasurer of the Jewish Genealogical Society, Inc.
Paul H. Silverstone received his B.A. from Yale University 1953, and his J.D. from Harvard Law School in 1956. He has been engaged in the travel industry in New York for many years. |
