The Single Flower Sangha holds 3-day meditation retreats (sesshin) monthly. Each sesshin begins at 9 am on Friday and lasts until 4 pm on Sunday. It is possible to attend part of the sesshin, in half-day increments. The cost is $50 per day or portion of a day.

Sesshin are held in members homes in the greater Boston area. To find the exact location or to sign up for a sesshin, please contact the Single Flower Sangha.

Group meditation extends from 6 AM to 9 PM, and consists of zazen and walking meditation with a few short rest periods, but students may use the zendo to meditate outside these hours. Three vegetarian meals are served in the zendo. Students are responsible for cleaning up after meals and keeping the house clean. We avoid unnecessary talking.

George Bowman gives a teisho each morning, and gives student interviews Saturday afternoon. Interviews are voluntary.

If you are coming from a distance you may be able to arrange to sleep over for the sesshin, at the discretion of the hosts.

After notifying the Single Flower Sangha of your intent to take part in a sesshin, you may reserve your space by printing out and completing the sesshin sign-up sheet, and sending it to the address on the sheet together with payment in full.
