The webmaster for this site, Paul Baker, is a PhD scientist who maintains an interest in both physical and life sciences. He has served as Chief Scientist for two small software companies and helped them grow, innovate, and improve their software development process. He led several Small Business Innovative Research projects in diverse topics: spatial databases, satellite communications protocols, and gene expression databases.

In private life, he supports groups committed to an open, free, and well-educated society. His commitment to our society, broad interests in science, and long experience with software have converged in his current role as advocate for a rationally designed, scientifically-sound, national data infrastructure that will foster cooperative action on national security, public health, and commercial business processes.
