Hi Everyone! - 10/09/06
 
We hope the school year is off to a good start for all of you 
and that you are finding your way back into the routine of homework 
and after school activities.  
I know it took us a while!
 
Believe it or not, we are in the beginning stages 
of planning the 2007 summer swim season 
and yes, with that comes the call for help!  
We have some key positions that we need to fill 
and some with more urgency than others.  
Next Monday, October 16th 
is the first Park District meeting for the upcoming season.  
It is the meeting that all new Rep's need to attend.   
The meeting begins at 7:00 and will end at approximately  8:30, 
with the first 1/2 hour being dedicated to the new reps 
and the rest of the meeting being Park District business.   
The following meetings are once a month on the second Monday 
and begin at 7:30 and usually last around an hour.   
Each team is required to have at least 1 rep at each meeting - 
if they don't, there is a $50 fine levied on the team.   
Right now, we only have 2 Rep's for Steeple Run and 1 of them travels quite a bit 
and does not have as much opportunity to attend the meetings.  
We need at least 1 more person, preferably 2 or more, to become a Park District Rep.  
(The more Rep's we have, the less meetings any 1 person has to attend!)  
This position really does help you learn how the whole Swim Conference works, 
it also gives you a voice in making the rules and changes 
that make sense for our Stingray swimmers..  
Please consider helping us out with this very important job!!
 
Also, seeing as we are a very small team and we lost a lot of our families last summer, 
we also lost a good deal of our income.   
Next season, we are going to need to do some fund raising to keep the wheels turning.  
We would like to have someone in charge of Sponsorship.  
This is a position that we have never had on our team 
which gives the volunteer a great opportunity to really shape how this will work.  
If you have done fund raising for school, work, Girl/Boy Scouts, 
please consider this job, it is going to be key to keeping the Stingrays swimming!  
This person will also be a part of our Steering Committee.
