During each Swim Meet, the stopwatch times are collected,
and entered into a computerized scoring system.

Then, while the Swim Meet continues,
little white labels are printed out
and passed to the "Awards" table.
The volunteers then put the labels
onto the appropriate winning ribbon for the swimmer,
and put the ribbons into the swimmer's folder.

So, at the next practice,
you should receive a ribbon in your folder.

BUT - You may not receive a ribbon, for 1 of 2 reasons.
You, or a member of your relay team,
received a DQ card,
Sorry...
AND - For relays, only 1st & 2nd place are awarded ribbons.

Here is a collection of award ribbons from 1st place to 6th place. The very large ribbon in the middle is from the end of season Classic/City Meets.

On the back of each ribbon is information about: the Date, the Teams, the Event, the Heet, the Swimmer, the Time, and the winning place...

These are the 1st, 2nd, & 3rd place medals awarded at the Classic & City meets.
The large round medal is a keepsake from the swim team.
