CalPERS Headquarters Expansion Master
Plan
The CalPERS headquarters expansion site includes two full blocks bounded
by 3rd and 5th Streets and Q and R Streets, and two smaller sites along
R Street between 5th and 7th Streets. (dark shaded areas on diagram
below)
The master plan program anticipates 550,000 square feet of office development,
ground floor commercial, and parking. The Master Plan will include approximately
180,000 square feet of residential development at a 3:1 ratio found in
the R Street Corridor Plan.
CalPERS is pursuing a master planning process that includes community
workshops, presentations to interested community groups, and advisory review
by the City of Sacramento staff, Planning Commission and Design Review
Preservation Board.
CalPERS is the nation's largest public pension fund with assets totaling
nearly $157 billion. The System provides retirement and health benefits
to more than 1 million state and local public employees and their families.
