- The character of new investment can reinforce and preserve the features of Minden valued by the community, or replace it.
- Minden will need to make choices about its economic niche in the Valley, how to energize the traditional shopping district, and expanding business opportunities.
What is the Minden Strategy for Prosperity?
- The Strategy is to identify economic opportunities for Minden and provide a set of land use, circulation, community image principles, and actions that lead to success.

- The Strategy will evolve out of a community-based planning process of workshops and community participation.
What will happen at the workshops?
There will be four community workshops:
- The first workshop will focus on defining Minden's planning issues and opportunities.
- The second workshop will provide an opportunity for participants to create alternative futures for Minden. These futures will identify the types of economic activity, places and connections the community desires.
- In the third workshop participants will shape development opportunities into image and design criteria.
- The final workshop will allow participants to test preliminary strategies and concepts and make adjustments.
Who is invited to the workshops?
- All the residents and businesses in Minden are encouraged to participate in the workshops.
- The CAC will also reach out to potential business and institutional partners in the Region.
What will be the result from the workshop and planning process?

- It will recommend changes to land uses and zoning.
- The strategy will make recommendations regarding the Town and County's Capital Improvements Program (CIP).
- It will connect the economic, land use and infrastructure strategies to a foundation of community image and preservation principles for design guidelines.
