Community Workshop #1: Planning Features

Workshop Objectives

On October 11, 2001, over 30 people attended the first of three community workshops to prepare a concept plan for the West 198 Highway corridor. The workshop provided an opportunity for participants to review planning issues, discuss planning objectives, and identify planning features for the 2,018 acre planning area.

Summary

Participants identified objectives and planning features. Overall objectives emphasized the importance of preparing a high quality plan with input from property owners. Other key objectives included allowing development of urban uses with an emphasis on maintaining the scenic character of the area. Participants felt planning concepts for the area should feature a mix of uses, fully integrated open space system that uses creeks as connections and provides buffers, and very high standards for and site planning and design.
