Retrospective Mulberry Street Then & Now

The above collection of photos captures a family history from the
late 1940's till present that will remain with us although this community shall
vanish.
Each row is a progression in time. For example row 2 above shows how at one time.
Trenton had a semi-pro womans softball league that played at Hetzle's Field. That
drew ledgends of the time like Jack Dempsey shown in middle photo of row 2.
The remaining rows depict the community, one where summer was a time fun and sharing.
Till later years when the harsh reality of business and urban blight marked the end
of once a very special community.
This day September 6, 2001 the City Council shall read the ordinance of acquisition
of 21, 23, and 59 Mulberry Street for the final time.
