MSA Community in Unity Breaking Bread for the last Time!

MSA's end is yet another beginning!
On October 6, 2001 with all of phase 2 of the Federal Mitigation of Assumpink Creek
agreed too. Owner/occupants started this day by seeing a sight that use to strike fear
in their hearts. A simple rain was falling upon Mulberry Street, a rain that was actually
angels tears falling from heaven for the loss of once a vibrant community.
Yet as the sons of stony waters made ready to break bread and make their peace upon
the banks of a creek that provided joy as well as sorrow to owner/occupants. By noon
it was as if God had given us his blessing, as the sun melted the gray clouds away.
Mulberry Street Association wishes to extend it's heart felt thanks and gratitude to
the following for sharing this special day with us. Mayor Douglas Palmer, Director of
Trenton Police Jim Golden, Deputy Chief of Police Alfred Henry and his wife Pat,
Lt. Joseph Juniak, Mercer County Freeholder Elizabeth Muoio, Assemblywoman Bonnie Watson Coleman,
Assemblyman Reed Gusciora, and Senator Shirley K. Turner for taking time out of their
schedules to join us this day. And to all others who stopped by.
As night is followed by day, a grassy meadow will grow where once flood waters roamed.
At times engulfing what we used to call home. As we part our ways stony waters runs
within our hearts. It's lesson runs deep and wide as we wipe a tear from our eye. Each
of us no matter where we go shall be that bedrock upon which a community grows.
