Under The Knife (or laser)

"Shhhhh He's coming out of it, should we tell him now or later"

This will be the first time I have to go into a hospital for surgery since I was 7 years old; ok it was 49 years ago. The only memory from my youth was waking in the middle of having my appendix removed, and going into shock. Anethesiology has come a long way in 50 years, at least they have more efftective way of knocking you out and keeping you out; timetimes permanently by accident.

I've gone into the hospital once or twice for a couple of stitches or sent for a test by my doctor. Some test are a piece of cake, x-rays and cat scans are a snap, unless they find something wrong. I had an MRI of my head once which didn't bother me in the least. I have talked with people who told me they totally spazzed out during an MRI and had to be pulled out of the tube. I must have lucked out, before loading me into the big electro-magnet, the technician asked if I wanted to listen to music while the test was in progress, asking which type; rock, classical, jazz, folk, country western, etc.

Shalom, Ray
