Midi System Arrangements
Simplest uses sound card in computer: no external equipment needed
To use external electric piano or synthesizer, connect midi/game port on sound card to equipment using special midi adapter/cable
- Cable has 15 pin connector on one end, adapter box and three 5 pin round connectors for “midi in”, “midi out”, “midi through”
- Midi in goes to keyboard (midi data generator); midi out goes to sound generator (keyboard, synthesizer); midi through repeats data on midi in and allows daisychaining of other midi equipment, eg electric organ, drum generator, so that they can all play simultaneously
Run midi sequencing program, load midi file, click on “play” button
