Midi Sequencing Software Programs
Midi recording (sequencing) requires a computer program
- Used to edit sequence, produce midi file, recording, playback, editing
- Displays midi event list showing note start/stop times, velocity values (loudness), pitch, midi controller commands for pedaling, special effects
- Provides control of every note in whole piece
- Allows wrong notes to be corrected, missing notes to be inserted
- Allows errors in rhythm and tempo to be corrected
- Displays score which can be printed out
- Allows transposition of piece to another pitch
- Allows speed to be increased or decreased
- Allows cutting and pasting of files to splice performances together
