It only took me . . . what . . . six months or so to put something up on this page? Well, besides Tina the Troubled Teen. Still, I would feel bad for ousting her from a place where she was so popular, so she still resides at the bottom of this little page, as wreaked with angst and ennui as ever.

acting.

Once upon a time, I was a Theatre Arts minor at Hartwick College. That all changed when I transferred to Brandeis University; I didn't have the free time to pretend I had two majors. Most of my acting was and still is relegated to Live-Action Role Playing, which you can find featured on my recreation page.

I am, however, a member of the MIT Musical Theater Guild, at least, until the end of fall 2001. If I am not part of another production by then, I become a non-member, having never actually been a student nor part of the MIT community.

How did I become a member? By landing a part in "Children of Eden," MTG's fall production of 2000. Jesse Cox (played Cain/Japheth) suggested I try out, as there were less females in the chorus than they might have liked. After Kat Allen (played Noah's Wife) and Dave (played Father, aka God) concurred, I tried out, and wonder of wonders, got in! To be honest, I did not expect to get a part because of their tiered casting system; you have a greater chance if you're a student, etc. But it all worked out, and now I have an even greater chance of getting a part.

singing.

I am currently a member of the Experimental Singing Group, an acapella group based out of the Experimental Study Group at MIT. Kat Allen and Jesse Cox are also members. Another one of our members also did backstage work on "Children of Eden." Overlapping artistic circles, anyone?

I am one of three (usually) sopranos. Kat Allen and Lauren Schiff are the other two, both of whom are friends of mine and occasionally game with me.

The Experimental Singing Group has performed all of once, at a time I was unable to attend. We are supposed to perform again soon in the future. I wonder if the group knows this.

I believe ESG Acapella is still working out when it will meet this term.

dancing.

I am a member of Tech Squares, the MIT square dancing group, as well as the self-proclaimed best square dancing troupe in the world. We learn in one term what normal mortals take one to two years to learn. Many of my friends are also part of Tech Squares: Tracy Walsh, Jesse Cox, Ross, Megan, Kim, Lauren Schiff, Kat Allen, Tommy Rhyne, Dawn Nekorchuk, Jen Glover, Joe Foley, Len Giambrone, and many more. (If you're not on this list and are in the class / club, it is more likely due to my faulty memory than anything else.) The class is a great place not only to get some exercise in a fun way, but to meet new and exciting people and be twirled by them.

Tech Squares rehearses every Thursday night, from 8:30 to 10:30 pm.

And finally, your friend and mine, Tina the Troubled Teen.
