==============

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:

How transparent/collaborative do you want our VMC communications to be?  This will determine the medium/venue.

1.  One possible extreme is to create one or many VMC Wikis [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wiki] -- easily created, nimble, LIVE "webpages" (password protected) that enable wide-open, far ranging, ongoing brainstorming discussions anytime, anywhere on one or many distinct/disparate topics of interest to one or more of our VMC constituencies.  This would be somewhat equivalent to the kinds of honest/open face-to-face conversations we have whenever we travel to our expedition outposts to meet with subsets of our VMC constituencies.  Miscreants can be excluded from a Wiki.

For a Wiki primer/example, see:  http://colab.cim3.net/cgi-bin/wiki.pl?CommunityLearning_CWE/ConferenceCalls_2006_03_03

2.  Another intermediate approach is to set up a controlled-access Moodle [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moodle ; http://moodle.org/] that also enables wide-open, far ranging, ongoing brainstorming discussions on one or many distinct/disparate topics of interest to one or more of our VMC constituencies, but requires somewhat more deliberate effort for participants.  Miscreants can be excluded from a Moodle.

NCSA's FREE Moodle-in-a-Box (http://revitalise.ncsa.uiuc.edu/resources/moodleinabox/) -- a FREE collaboration/discussion software package that enables anyone anywhere to set up their own Moodle -- is easy to install/use on any computer anywhere and can be accessed by anyone/anywhere (password protected access).  For a Moodle example, see:  http://www.eotepic.org/moodle/course/view.php?id=2

3.  Access Grid (http://www.accessgrid.org/).

4.  At the other extreme is a static webpage that does not allow VMC's constituents to see each others' thoughts about a specific matter (somewhat sterile).

What do you want to accomplish?.
