Professional Semester for Secondary Education Programs
Secondary Education students participate in observation and/or assisting experiences for thirty hours, in accordance with their content discipline and grade level field placements, arranged by the Coordinator of Student Teacher Placement. BEST trained Cooperating Teachers guide the Secondary Education students' field work, and allow the candidates to observe, assist, tutor, and/or instruct students in grades 7 through 12 in the candidates' specific discipline. Candidates write a field report based on questions pertaining to the field experience, which are created by the Arts and Sciences University professor in the candidate's discipline.
