Trade
Toward High Quality S&W Old Army #2

The piece retains 95% original nickel finish and shows scattered pinprick pitting, with one small rough spot near the muzzle on the left side. Most of the peppered pitting is forward of the cylinder from black powder residue. The cylinder face also shows a loss of plating due to the combustion and corrosive effects of black powder. The cylinder retains 98% finish. The left grip retains about 95% varnish and the right grip retains about 75%.
Mechanics are excellent. Indexing is right, lock-up is tight, mainspring strong, hammer cocks precisely. There was no half cock on these. S&W Old Model 1 ½'s are quite rare in nickel finish, and this example is in overall antique excellent condition. It is offered as a trade toward an S&W Old Army No. 2 in the 60,120 to 76,662 serial number range (Type 7, 8, or 9 in the Curtis Study which can be viewed thru the link on the first page of my web site at the top of the page). The Old Army traded can be any barrel length or finish, but must be 90% plus original condition. Trade + $$$ from me expected.
Shipping costs plus insurance both ways will be split down the middle. Deal must provide 3 day inspection on both ends and firing of the pieces involved is prohibited until the deal is final. (Ref.
