To Change The Default For Saving Microsoft PowerPoint Files To Your H Drive Instead Of The Hard Drive (also known as Local Drive) Of The Computer

If you have never created a documents folder in your H drive, DO THIS FIRST:

Folders will help you to organize your files.  Imagine a filing system where all your files are in a folder called Documents and then within the Documents you have numerous folders and files, organized by subject.  

To create a folder:

  1. Double click on (open) My Computer.

  2. Open your H drive.

  3. Clicking on File (pull down menu), select New and then Folder

  4. Type the name, Documents, for the new folder.

THEN DO THIS:

If you have Microsoft PowerPoint 95/6.0

  1. Within Microsoft PowerPoint 95/6.0 select the Tools menu.

  2. Select Options.

  3. Select the tab in the Options window that is labeled Advanced.

  4. Below you will see “Default File Location:”  Type h:\Documents

  1. Click on OK.

If you have Microsoft PowerPoint 2000

  1. Within Microsoft PowerPoint 2000 select the Tools menu.

  2. Select Options.

  3. Select the Save tab in the Options window.

  4. Below you will see “Default File Location:”  Type h:\Documents

  1. Click on OK.
