Penn College 5 - NCC - 4
NCC' s 26 match win streak, which dated back to April 1999, finally came to an end with a hard fought loss to Penn College this afternoon. The Spartans who were a heavy underdog to a very good Penn College team nearly pulled off what would have been the "upset of the season" with tough, gritty play. NCC looked very good at the 1 & 2 positions but the match of the day was at the #4 position where Northampton's Jeremy Lyter pulled off a hugh victory over Aaron Capp who was Penn College's # 2 player a year ago. While losing is never the goal, if there is such a thing as a "moral victory" the Spartans earned one today.
