Short Biography

  • Born in Armenia.
  • Studied in Armenia under S.M.Agadzhanyan and S.A.Arakelyan 1922-1927.
  • Moscow Graduate Art School under S.V.Gerasimov 1930-1931.
    In Leningrad under A.A.Osmerkin.
  • First exhibition took place in Yerevan in 1932.
  • Taught in Yerevan 1937-1944 and 1954-1959.
  • Major themes are illustrations of Armenian epics and legends.
  • Died in Armenia in 1994.
