• 2011: First US colonization vehicles land on Mars
• 2017: The Bill and Melinda Gates Exploration Foundation is formed to resume responsibility for the US Mars colony expansion after its budget is cut by the US congress
• 2018: US Mars colony announces they have discovered primitive life on Mars
• 2020: Russia establishes Earth orbital construction base
• 2020: US Mars colony infected by Martian parasites
• 2025: First Chinese colonization vehicles land on Mars
• 2029: Russian colonization super ship arrives at Mars
• 2031: Russian colony detects infection from Martian parasites and takes effective containment measures
• 2033: Russian colony announces quarantine imposed on US and Chinese colonies because of parasite infections; ensuing actions result in the purging of the infected from the Chinese colony;
• 2034: Russian and Chinese colony members successfully gain control of US colony and completely purge it of infected
• 2042: Mars based asteroid mining starts
• 2050: NASB resumes financial responsibility for Martian colony
• 2052: The NASB Martian colony achieves self-sufficiency
• 2053: ESB assumes control of Russian Mars colony
• 2054: PSB assumes control of Chinese Mars colony
• 2055: UN officially dissolved and replaced by the World Political and Commerce Council with the major blocks splitting power three ways
• 2056: WPCC agrees to respect Resolution 2734
• 2057: A signal of unknown origin and massive power is emitted from the surface of Mars resulting in the destruction of sensor systems planet wide
• 2088: A revolt among the mine workers in the ESB colonies cause severe disruptions in operations and trade
• 2089: The security blocks on Earth are embroiled in a crisis that could result in a global nuclear war. The leaders of the Mars colonies have gathered at Mars Commerce. They hope to avert the spread of the conflict to Mars and to discuss the future of the colonies should the unthinkable happen.
