Resolution 2734 Costuming

Each of the major factions has specific national and ethnic origins that define their typical dress to some extent. However everyone is on Mars which is a futuristic space colony so dress should also reflect the fact that clothing for a typical colonist is very utilitarian. The following gives suggestions for each faction but anything that could be termed as general colony wear described below is fine. Costuming is a great adder to any LARP and I strongly encourage all players to make an effort.

It should be noted that players with security roles should try to include their faction colors in the uniform they wear. I have included colors with each faction below.

If you are unsure of your character’s ethnic origins please let me know and I will make it clear for you.

NASB – The NASB was founded out of the Americas. The ethnic groups include the Hispanic of Central and South America as well as the melting pots of the US and Canada. This means that diplomats and leaders could wear business suits or perhaps dress from their particular region of the NASB. The colors of the NASB are red, white, and blue.

PSB – The PSB was founded out of China, Japan and the South Pacific Asia. The ethnic groups include Chinese, Japanese, South East Asian, and Australian. This means that diplomats and leaders could wear business suits or traditional Chinese or Japanese dress. The colors of the PSB are red and yellow.

ESB – The ESB was founded out of the European Union, Russia, and Scandinavia. The ethnic groups include European, Russian, and Scandinavian. This means that diplomats and leaders could wear business suits or traditional dress from any of these regions. The colors of the ESB are blue, yellow, and red.

ASB – The ASB was founded out of the African nations however the emphasis of the faction is mysticism so the dress of the leaders typically resembles more that of a pagan priest or mystic than that of an executive. The colors of the ASB include red, green and yellow however any bright vibrant colors will be fine.

WPCC – The WPCC is an international organization that had its origins in the UN. The WPCC is run like a corporation and its leadership dress like businessmen. The colors of the WPCC are white and blue.

IAM – The IAM is an organization that was formed on Mars by space miners. The leadership dresses much like the many astronauts they represent. This means it would be hard to pick out the leader of the IAM from a line up of first class engineers. The colors of the IAM are red-orange and black.

Colony Wear – This includes anything from a Deep Space 9 uniform, a generic jumpsuit to a pair of overalls.
