In the works of Carlos Castaneda, Don Juan describes death as an entity that comes to collect us. There is a moment before we are whisked away, however, when Death stops and watches us perform a dance. Each move in the dance is a significant experience in our lives, a moment of power. For ordinary men, the dance is short and boring, and Death quickly continues his task. For a Warrior, however, the dance is long and fascinating; a beautiful celebration to a life lived with impeccability. Death pauses with respect for such a dancer.
