When Brian Young sings
"My paycheck has left me down," anyone who has ever done an honest day's work
can relate. But the lyricist and front man - a perfect term for Young who
likes to pace a few feet from his audience - is really in tune with the
Generation X crowd.
The band, led by the twin guitars of big man Josh Pretko and Rory Hertzog,
serves up a hard-driving slew of short and snappy alt-metal grunge that verges
on hardcore. But it's peppered with surprising time change twists, melodic

All five are veterans of the '90s music scene, having played in bands such as
the hardcore Blindside, funk-rock outfit Bump, Grow and Cornered. Although
Pretko says they deliver straight ahead rock, strains of his hardcore past are

keep his sound fresh, lends a unique dynamic.
Unlike many bands, The band encourages fans to copy their five-song demo and shop
it around. At shows, they give the demo out free and hope to soon allow visitors
to their Web site to download their songs for free.
