The Richard F. Howland Chapter was formed in 1946 and named as such because Richard was one of New Bedfords own, killed in action with the 212th Armored Field Artillery, part of the 6th Armored Division, Third Army during World War 2. The Chapter is made up of members of the original 212th Armored Field Artillery unit and members of the 101st, 212th and 211th Artillery battalions.
The chapter holds monthly meetings in New Bedford at the Waldron Barracks,
Buttonwood Park, on Veterans Way., on the 2nd Monday of each month at 2 P.M.
