Review

Shitar's Exactly establishes a new standard for the band. This diverse collection of immediately likeable pop songs is punctuated by the professional sound quality that comes with digital recording. Shitar has undoubted turned the corner into a new era with this CD. 

 The songs are short and to the point -- many no more than three minutes long -- and the hooks grab you on first listen and stay with you long after the song has ended. Matt's Sweet Lolita and Ground Zero are straight ahead rockers with just enough hook to be favorites. John's up-tempo tunes Don't Say It and Need to See are certain favorites but it is the heavy Not Breathing that provides some of the CD's kick in the ass. Among Mark's contributions are Busses and Revolving Doors and I'm Not Moving My Car -- two quirky tunes that are sure to become fan favorites.

Overall, the material on Exactly stacks up favorably to anything Shitar has done. The new technology, however, makes this easily the best of the Shitar collection.
