Review
Use Your Kielbasa is a big, eclectic, ambitious
effort--and a mildly, if not wildly successful follow-up to Blow
it Out Your Amp!!! Deciding not to emulate their
previous album, Shitar instead tries a bit of experimentation with songs
culled from many, many genres. See You Around
is perhaps the most loved song from Shitar's vast catalogue. Matt
Gorney is a frontman and musician in the Paul Stanley mold, and that
is evidenced here. John Gorney, on the other hand, has always
had an affinity for pushing the musical envelope. While he delivers
standard fare in songs like Struck Me Hard
and Memory to Keep, he also delves into new
areas with Hip Trip and Fairy
Dance. Kielbasa may lack unity and direction, but
it makes up for it by satisfying Shitar fans of varying tastes.
Truly, something for everyone.
