Review

Following in the success of Shades of Grey and the live album Unleashed, Shitar throws a curve ball.  In lieu of a traditional rock album (which would have sold millions), the band opted for a concept album.  The story is simple
enough:  boy loves girl, boy loses girl, man from outer space takes over the world, boy defeats bad guy and gets girl.  You've heard it a thousand times. Still, Shitar has enough charm and wit to pull it off.  Dusty has served as
inspiration to millions of people down on their luck and is often rated among the top rock songs off all time.  However, it was never released as a single. Instead it was the b-side of Nobody Knows, a song included on but not really a part of The Great Space Opera.  Even more odd was the awful rendition of Wanted: Dead or Alive.  AHHHHH!  Still the album is stocked with melodic and catchy, if not poetic, tunes that will get you going.

Rating (Out of *****)

** 1/2
