Review
Shitar as we know it is alive. Swoggled is a celebration of life,
brilliantly played if sometimes shoddily recorded. The album is
a huge (with a capital HU) step forward musically, with Mark Mistysyn
providing full-time axework. Shitar was able to capture the frenzied
electricity of their live shows on an album that is loaded with classics.
Mistysyn makes his presence felt immediately with a great riff in Anticipation
and melodic soloing throughout. John brings to the table some
heavier tongue-in-cheek songs with Crack the Whip
and Why Did We Hurt Each Other? Matt
is also in fine form, refining his songwriting genius on songs like
When I'm With You.
