Review
Unlike many of Shitar's past greatest-hits-type packages, Boxed:
Thunder rocks. The album was recorded over a year
span in three different studios and is brilliantly tied together and
meticulously produced by Matt Gorney. Even with John Gorney three
thousand miles away, they managed to finish the album. Mark Mistysyn
provides lead vocals on End of Time, and Matt
fills in a double role in My Baby's Not at Home,
and a stirring rendition of Jenny, on which
John played, but did not sing. Perhaps the highlight of the disc
is the 80's throwback Don't Need Your Love,
done in the full swagger and libido of that decade, complete with guitar
pyrotechnics from Mark Mistysyn. Also of note are the five songs
from the bands first album. Shades
of Grey never sounded so good.
