Review
Boxed: Zucchini is an odd album. When
reports leaked of Shitar's impending plans to release a boxed set, fans
were rabid with anticipation. In order to pacify fans requests,
Shitar decided to put out the collection in increments. What had actually
been planned as a new album recording session turned into the Zucchini
project. This was perhaps largely due to the fact that Mark Mistysyn,
now a fixture in the band, was absent for the recording. Rumor
has it that he was spending time with a demanding Irish girl who would
not let him go. So Shitar, in its original form, proceded to go
on with yet another greatest hits project. Only three of the eighteen
songs are Matt tunes, so there was definately an imbalance. The
music was solid, however, Mistysyn's presence on guitar was sorely missed.
