Wedding Bells Sound for Shitar

(Plymouth Meeting, PA) - One was in the planning stages for over a year. The other was sudden and unexpected. The results, however, were the same as two members of Shitar were officially taken off the market.

Mark and Jenny MistysynOn March 2nd, Matt Gorney and his fiance, Elizabeth, slipped away to a tropical paradise in Jamaica to seal their bond under bright sun and palm trees. Not to be outdone, Mark Mistysyn and fiance, Jenny, went the more traditional route with a Catholic ceremony in Philadelphia followed by a party for the ages at the Doubletree in Plymouth Meeting on May 8th.

According to a band spokesman, the growing concern that the recent nuputials along with the December 2003 birth of John Gorney's daughter will mean a lapse in new music is unfounded. In fact, rumors are circulating that the trio has once again booked Beachfront Studios for a late-July 2004 recording session.

Matt and Elizabeth GorneyWith all three members present at Mistysyn's wedding, Shitar took the opportunity to pose for several band photos.

"Perhaps we could use one of those photos to take the place of the photo taken the last time Shitar attended a wedding together," said Mistysyn. (EDITORS NOTE: See the top of this page for evidence of that photo, circa 1993)

Shitar music could also be heard blasting in the PA system at Mistysyn's wedding. First, Mistysyn danced his first dance with his new bride to The Question -- which he used to propose a little more than a year ago. Next, Gorney danced with his bride to Safe Haven as a celebration of their wedding. Then all danced to a remixed version of Back It Up that brought the house down!
