G+M / Big Men's Club announced they will have some virtual/online presence but did have their final NYC meeting/ social JUNE 2008. The New York Bear Club, first met in 2002, ceased operation AUG 26 2004. The Bergenfield Bears disbanded in 1998, and their last function was holiday party-steak dinner in Dec. Balance of the club's funds were donated to Valinor Farms hospice. See Calendar-scroll below for Metrobears and various other club's events in including some out of area events and more I think may be of interest. I appreciate your sending any additional events notices and/or any corrections! The NYC area could always use another viable club for Bears and friends.
Metrobears is the "senior" NYC bear club and has a very large membership. Don't just pay the dues and wait to be entertained- make an event happen; they always welcome volunteers! See up to date notices of club events in scroll box below. General meetings are held approx quarterly L+G Community Ctr. Board meetings are held monthly. Bar nites are held since late summer 2009 at VIEW Bar on 8 Ave. near 20st. on the 2nd and 4th Fridays. It alway is a great time volunteer -tell [MBNY President] Mike that Steve sent you! Nominations for board positions and volunteers are solicited each Spring. MBNY last had a special dinner at a special price for members at the Chelsea Grill MAR 11 2006 in lieu of a holiday party. Bowling and movie nights are held every few months The 2006, 2007 Mr. Metrobear and Cub event was held Columbus Day Weekend at the Center; this years [2009] a smaller event was held at View bar 8Av.
Metrobears had a "Bears at the Beach" [Sandy Hook-Gunnison -clothing-optional- Beach] AUG 18 2007. Otherwise, they are not organising to go there each weekend, but you may find a bear flag there on any Sunday [July thru Labor Day weekend]. Seastreak is the new name of ferry service there from Manhattan East River Piers 11 and E 34 st. The biggest weekend the club held was Big Apple Bear Fest Labor Day Weekend- CANCELLED for 2004 and not held since. An anniversary bar nite or street fair party was held in MAY. The Metrobears Events Coordinator invites email regarding these events. *I* also send out periodic e-mail to my own list about events and other news, e-mail me, to put yourself on it.

BOSF -Bears of San Francisco- hold I B R
Northwest Bears bar nite C. C. Attle ea. 1st SAT 6-12mid and part last SAT monthly at the Eagle 9pm. They hold SPRING THAW each April.
