Fantasy was becoming open advocacy. Rock stars and filmmakers cheered for someone to kill the President. Prosecute the dumbf____ks. BUT how could Bush bumble on so...? Remember that Clinton preferred hands-off towards terrorists, shove a few cruise missiles was OK sometimes. He armed the PLO 'police' with thousands of machine guns etc. after the OSLO accords, to build up Arafat's thug army in anticipation of a Palestinian State. Look, I see it as his'don't ask -don't tell attitude' was surely an aspect of HIS PERSONAL LIFE, also carried over into the mutual courting of the terrorist appeasers in the State Dept. etc. vs. US Intelligence and military who had or almost had the info. that if Clinton had acted decisively could have prevented spared us 9-11.  mideast after an attack, follow with US aid.etc. despite the stereotype about US
 [a la "The Mouse That  Roared" etc] it did not happen that way probably esp hurt
 US-FR relations  permanently. Cooperation would NEVER be possible again. An
