Recently the offical Ann Coulter web site started a chat board for its members. Some of the message threads are unintentionally funny. One in particular that caught my eye was a thread with the subject:

Politics Aside: Ann is HOT!

At 49 posts the topic was the number one topic on the site for a few days, and remains one of the more popular topics to have popped up. All this may give us one reason why Coulter is so popular, in addition, of course, to her brilliant political insights. What follows are just a few of the more interesting posts from these sophisticated fans of rational political discourse.

The topic was begun by one hangten4884 who wrote:

Regardless of your political ideologies, we can all agree on one thing. Ann Coulter is smoking! Liberals and conservatives alike must concur that Ann is the epitome of beauty. She is gorgeous, articulate, and intelligent. She fights for her beliefs; and welcomes confrontation as she is confident of her ability to defend her viewpoints. I have seen Ann enter an arena full of her adversaries and make them look the fool as she dismantles their points. But politics aside, I challenge anyone to argue the FACT that Ann Coulter is a hottie!

AntiCoulter.com, while not calling Coulter ugly, would also not call her a hottie. Just for the record.

This is the only comment I will ever make on Anns appearance. When I saw her sitting across from Katie Couric I found I could not look away from my set. She truely is an angel flying too close to the ground.

to quote the bard, kindness not beauteous looks will win my love. lady ann, is kind and gentle spirited,that's probably all you need to understand. read her crystallized arguments and entreaties and you will be enlightened.

"kind and gentle spirited"? Coulter? The Polemical Pit Bull? I have to wonder if bruno is pulling our leg here.

Okay she's hot, but she's not that hot. I give her a 7 or 8. Granted, I was pleased when her chair was purposefully raised on "Geraldo" so that her legs could show above the desk ("above the fold"?) for the camera. But, come on, she's no Laurie Dhue! [a FOX reporter]

Ann is one of the hottest women in the world. My girlfriend is 23. In 12 years, I am thinking she will look like Ann. But she does lack the political prowess. Honestly, no woman in politics is hotter. I put her on the same level as, oh, say Rebecca Stamos (John Stamos' wife) or say Charlize Theron. But Ann is such a tough person. I love it. Basically, Ann Coulter is a hotter, younger Judge Judy.

Judge Judy? I cannot describe my horror. Although he may have a point…

What? You could never put Ann's politics aside! That's part of what makes her a hottie. If she were a liberal none of us would be raving about her appeal. Having said that, I think the hottest thing I've seen EVER is that pic of her sitting on a back porch shooting a rifle. She makes the Second Ammendment that much more worth defending!

After GearoidOH, in a long message, calculates that Coulter must be 41 or 42…

Why does she kide her age? Is Ann married? Why is she so shady about her personal life? And when I find out she might be 42, that makes her even HOTTER! I am 23, and the idea of a hot 42 year old is even better. AuntiPC, thanks for the words of encouragement. I guess with age comes wisdom, with wisdom comes a Republican.

Or something like that.
