Marriage Notes for JO MARS and ELIZABETH O'CONNELL: RESIDENCE: In 1920 census ( Enumeration district 272, page #15B) Mr. and Mrs. Jo Harper Mars were residing at: 610 Decatur St. Brooklyn, Kings Co., NY. Also at the residence was their son William B. and Elizabeth's mother, Helen O'Connell.
In 1934 Mr. and Mrs. J.H. Mars were residing at: 237-13 93rd Ave Queens Village Long Island, NY Also at the residence in 1934 was a Mrs. Rehms (or Rhem ?). She was a great grandmother to Marion and Bill. This is stated on photos.
Children of JO MARS and ELIZABETH O'CONNELL are: 2. i. MARY HELEN2 MARS, b. October 15, 1880; d. August 15, 1956. ii. WILLIAM B. MARS, b. Abt. 1885, NY; d. Unknown.
Notes for WILLIAM B. MARS: Possibly one of the identical twins. I found him in the 1920 census at the age of 35 living with his parents in Brooklyn, NY. We have family photos showing his sister Mary with 2 younger brothers who were identical twins. Unknown if there was another brother.

2. MARY HELEN2 MARS (JO HARPER1) was born October 15, 18803, and died August 15, 19563. She married WILLIAM COPELAND TOMPKINS November 30, 19053, son of URIAH TOMPKINS and HARRIET COONS. He was born December 12, 1880 in NY3, and died March 30, 1960 in Glen Rock, NJ4.

Marriage Notes for MARY MARS and WILLIAM TOMPKINS: In 1935 the family of Will C. Tompkins resided at: 9111-97th St. Woodhaven, Long Island, NY.
In 1934 Will C. Tompkins, his wife May Mars and children Marion and Willie went across country, to California and back to NY, on family vacation. Their trip is recorded in a photo album and by postcards saved.
Some of the places the family visited and took pictures of was: Distons, NY, Haines Falls, NY, Bear Mountain, NY, Salt Point, NY. Pictures were taken at "The Fenmore" and "The Vista", possibly names of houses at any of these spots in NY. Salt Point, NY was the address of Catharine Coons (nickname Dady), Will C. Tompkins' aunt. Family story has it that she helped raise her sister's three boys after Harriette Coons died. Salt Point is Will C. Tompkin's brother's place of birth. .
