In the Name of God Amen I Daniel Greenleaf Jun. of Bolton in the County of Worcester & province of the Massachussets Bay New England Physician being engaged to go into the continental service as chief Surgeon in the Regiment whom Jonathan Smith Esq. Colonel. Considering the necessitudes and danger those persons are exposed to who are engaged in War especially as the present War is. Being of health of body & sound perfect mind & memory, praise be to almight God. Therefore do make and ordain this my present and last will and Testament in manner and form following. That is to say first and principally I commend my Sould into the hands of almighty God who gave it. My body I commit to the earth to be decently buried at the discretion of my Executor hereafter named -- And as touching the disposition of all my temporal estate I give and dispose thereof as followeth -- Imprimis I will that my debts and funeral charges shall be paid and discharged. Item I give and bequeath to my loving wife Ann Greenleaf the onehalf of my Estate both real and personal except such legacies as hereafter mentioned so long as she remains my widow. And if she marries then the improvement of one third of the real estate during her life and one third the personal estate to be hers forever. Item I give and bequeath unto Daniel my well beloved Son Thirteen Pounds six shillings & Eight pence lawful money to purchase a Silver Tankard also my watch and stone Ring. Item I give and bequeath unto my beloved Daughter Silence six pounds thirteen shillings and four pence lawful money to purchase her a silver [???]. Item I give and bequeath unto my beloved daughter Eleanor six pounds thirteen shillings and four pence lawful money to purchase for her a Silver [???]. If Same Baker Esq. And Ann my wife who are hereafter made and appointed my executors think proper and fit to sell my real estate my will is that they shall have liberty so to do and the money is to be put out on good Surity and said money to be equally divided amongst my three children above mentioned, & my desire is that Samuel Baker Esq may be their guardian. Furthermore my desire is that my live stock, husbandry utensils, physical books, medicines and surgery instrument and chaise may be sold and divded amongst my three children. Item I give to Ann Burrell my wife's Daughter six pounds Thirteen shillings and four pence to purchase for her a piece of plate as she shall choose. Item my will is that all my other Books be equally divided between my wife and children, my wife having her choice and as long as my wife remains my widow my will is that she shall have the improvement of all my household furniture. Item my will is that all the rest and residue of my personal estate goods & chattels whatsoever I give and bequeath unto my three children Viz Daniel, Silence and Eleanor Samuel Baker Esq. of Bolton and Ann Greenleaf my beloved wife whom I do hereby make and appoint full and whole executors of this my last will and testament. And I do hereby revoke, disanull and make void all former wills & testaments by me heretofore made either by word of mouth or writing in witness whereof I the said Daniel Greenleaf Jun. to this my last will and testament have set my hand and seal this twenty second day of July in the year of our Lord one Thousand Seven hundred and seventy six. Signed sealed published & declared by the testator in the presence of us whose names are published as witnesses and attested by us in the presence of the said Testator.
