To Readings 2, enjoy.

To those of you who laughed at me, thank you.

Without you I wouldn’t have cried

To those of you who just couldn’t love me, thank you.

Without you I wouldn’t have known real love.

To those of you who hurt my feelings, thank you.

Without you I wouldn’t have felt them.

To those of you who left me lonely, thank you.

Without you I wouldn’t have discovered myself.

But it is to those of you who thought I couldn’t do it;

It is you I thank the most,

Because without you I wouldn’t have tried.

BUTT PRINTS IN THE SAND

One night I had a wondrous dream,

One set of footprints there were seen,

The footprints of my precious Lord,

But mine were not along the shore.

But then some stranger prints appeared,

And I asked the Lord, "What have we here?"

Those prints are large and round and neat,

"But Lord, they are too big for feet."

"My child," He said in somber tones,

"For miles I carried you alone.

I challenged you to walk in faith,

But you refused and made me wait."

"You disobeyed, you would not grow,

The walk of faith, you would not know,

So I got tired, I got fed up,

And there I dropped you on your butt."

"Because in life, there comes a time,

When one must fight, and one must climb,

When one must rise and take a stand,

Or leave their butt prints in the sand."

Why I Drank

I drank for happiness and became unhappy.

I drank for joy and became miserable.

I drank for sociability and became argumentative.

I drank for sophistication and became obnoxious.

I drank for friendship and made enemies.

I drank for sleep and woke up tired.

I drank for strength and felt weak.

I drank for relaxation and got the shakes.

I drank for courage and became afraid.

I drank for confidence and became doubtful.

I drank to make conversation easier and slurred my speech.

I drank to feel heavenly and ended up felling like hell.

Strive For Balance

1. Don't undermine your worth by comparing yourself with others. It is because we are different that each of us is special.

2. Don't set your goals by what other people deem important. Only you know what is best for you.

3. Don't take for granted the closest things to your heart. Cling to them as you would your life, for without them life is meaningless.

4. Don't let your life slip through your fingers by living in the past or future. By living our life one day at a time, you live ALL the days of your life.

5. Don't give up when you still have something to give. Nothing is really over until the moment you stop trying.

6. Don't be afraid to admit you are less then perfect. It is this fragile thread that binds us together.

7. Don't be afraid to encounter risk It is by taking chances that we learn how to be brave.

8. Don't shut love out of your life by saying it's impossible to find. The quickest way to receive love is to give; the fastest way to lose love is too hold it too tightly; and the best way to keep love is to give it wings.

9. Don't run through life so fast that you forget not only were you've been, but also where you are going.

10. Don't feel that a person's greatest emotional need is to feel appreciated.

11. Don't be afraid to learn. Knowledge is weightless, a treasure you can always carry easily.

12. Don't use time or words carelessly. Neither can be retrieved.
