The Nurse: Juliet's "confidante"
A "confidante" is a character who is a trusted friend. It is a character
whom one can tell almost anyone to. In this play, Juliet's confidante is
the Nurse, and Romeo's seems to be Friar Laurence. Both, supposedly, are
supposed to be responsible, honorable adults, guiding these two young teens
in their times of trouble.
Both, of course, are failing miserably at this task.
