AUTHORITY: The Board of Directors, acting under Article VIII, Section I of the By-Laws (January 1993) issue the following Range Rules:

PURPOSE: The following Range Rules and Regulations are established to insure safety and discipline for members and guests on Club Ranges and on Club Property as well as safety for our neighbors and the surrounding community.

ENFORCEMENT: All Members are required to enforce these rules. All members in good standing are expected to politely point out to any shooter in violation of these rules, the nature of the violation, request that they stop and report the incident along with the violator's name to a Board Member for review.

PENALTY: The Board of Directors will review all reports of range violations and after meeting with the member or members in question, will take one of the following actions:

  1. No Action;
  2. Written Reprimand;
  3. Temporary Suspension of membership;
  4. Expulsion from the Club.

RANGE RULES:

  1. The Range Officer in charge has total control of all activities on the range and must be obeyed.
  2. Keep the muzzle pointed in a safe direction (down range) at all times.
  3. Keep finger off the trigger until ready to fire.
  4. Keep all firearms unloaded and all actions open until on the firing line and ready to fire.
  5. No alcohol is permitted on any range.
  6. The use of illegal drugs is forbidden on club grounds (automatic expulsion).
  7. Members must conspicuously wear membership card while on club grounds.
  8. Remove all live ammo from range.
  9. Inspect range for hazards (and children) prior to use.
  10. Glass targets are not permitted on any range at any time.
  11. Shooters must clean their area after each use.
  12. Politely and positively respond when corrected concerning a violation of club rules.
  13. Legal firearms and ammunition shall not be restricted from range.
  14. It is mandatory that any person making use of or being present on an active range wear appropriate eye and ear protection.

RANGE USAGE: All scheduled use of any range shall take precedence over individual or personal activities.

  1. RANGE 1: High Power Rifle, Shotgun, Handgun, 22 cal. rifle. High Power Rifles take precedence on this range when Trap House is not in use.**
  2. RANGE 2: Shotgun, Handgun, High Power Rifle and 22 cal. Rifle. Hand trap is available for use with clay targets, paper targets and all other shooting.**
  3. RANGE 3: Plinking range - any legal firearm. Any safe target with the exception of glass. * *
  4. RANGE 4: Pistol, Revolver and 22 cal. Rifle only. Paper targets only. Handguns take precedence. * *
  5. RANGE 5: Archery Range, NO FIREARMS! Bow and arrow with field points only. Prior to use check area for children or animals. Cross bows are prohibited from use on this range.
  6. RANGES 1, 2 & 3: Crossbows will be permitted on these ranges only.

** NOTE: Black powder, muzzleloaders are permitted on appropriate ranges.
