Sand and Sea

Nostalgic California Sunset
We are dancing
You and me
Sand and Sea
In perfect harmony.
Always touching
But can never embrace
Your kiss is lost on the wind,
Sea
And mine can never be.
White capped waves pound the
surf
Taunting Sand to give up
earth.
Windswept mist caress and
tease
Making Sand bow down to
please.
Sea is boundless passion
Pure in her love for Sand
But her powerful waves
Will never hold his hand.
Sea is forever changing
And her beauty is rare
Like a jewel with no equal
To compare.
Sand is forgiving and eager to
please
Standing solid as a tree.
And always reaching
For the embrace that can never
be.
Sea begs Sand for one moment
more
Together as they meet on a
forgotten shore.
Wanting to embrace and reach
for more,
Loving and hating the memories
they bore.
