Qualify for a Permit to Carry a Concealed Handgun (CCW)

3 hours / $75

Class. The most popular class is Introduction to Firearms Safety and Marksmanship. The goal of this class is to provide beginning shooters with an introduction to the knowledge, skills and attitude necessary to own and use a handgun safely. You do not have to own or rent a handgun to participate in the class.

Upon completion of the class, you will be awarded a Certificate of Competency, in class, which satisfies the education requirement of Virginia Code §18.2-308 to obtain a Virginia resident or nonresident Permit to Carry a Concealed Handgun (CHP a.k.a. "CCW").

This is the perfect class for beginning shooters that need a solid foundation in firearm safety and the fundamentals of shooting.

The Intro class consists of classroom activities only and lasts ABOUT 3 hours depending on your experience and needs.  A trip to the shooting range is NOT required to get your Certificate.

OPTIONAL RANGE SESSION: Some beginners elect to follow up the class by participating in a supervised range session to practice the shooting fundamentals learned in class.   This consists of actual shooting where you are coached by your instructor.  There is no additional cost for this instruction, but the student will be required to pay about $20 for range time and any special ammunition costs.

This class is the easiest and most economical way for an experienced shooter to qualify for their Permit to Carry a Concealed Handgun (CHP).

Certificate. Upon completion of the class, you will be awarded a Certificate of Competency that satisfies the education requirement to obtain a Permit to Carry a Concealed Handgun.
