Live scrolling will allow you to slide the scroll bar in Microsoft Word '97 just like a web browser (by placing your mouse cursor on the scroll bar and holding the left mouse button down and moving the mouse in the desired scroll direction).
No need to click on the scroll up/down arrows anymore!
Live scrolling is actually already programmed into Microsoft Word but for some unknown reason Microsoft chose not to include the feature.
This FREE little application will apply a "tweak" to your Microsoft Word '97 installation that will enable live scrolling.
The only thing that the application actually does is to add a new value called "livescrolling" and sets the new value equal to "1" in the Windows registry for Microsoft Word. See the screen shot below:

Take note of the path: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\MICROSOFT\OFFICE\8.0\WORD\OPTIONS
This is the only change that the installation application does. If you are familiar with using the registry editor then you can perform the change to the registry yourself. I created the installation application for people who are not comfortable working in the Windows registry.
If you are using Microsoft Word '97 original, SR-1, SR-2 or SR-2b and running Win 95/98/ME/NT4.0/XP/2000 you can download the Microsoft Word '97 Live Scrolling installation program free of charge by clicking on the following link:
