Federal Bureau of Land Management agents, Nevada State Troopers, Pershing and Washoe County Sheriffs and agents of various other Federal, State and local law enforcement bodies all patrol BRC and its environs. The police presence at Burning Man 2000 was particularly heavy and visible.

Most arrests are made for drug sales -- which are violations of Burning Man's No Commercial Vending tenent in the first place. The other popular citation is for "public nudity" -- which really means "public sex", since no one is ever arrested for mere nudity. At least, not within the Black Rock City limits, they aren't.
