TRINITY COVENANT CHURCH MUSIC DIRECTOR OPENING:

POSITION SUMMARY:

Trinity Covenant Church in Lexington, MA seeks a part-time Director of Music Ministry to draw on his/her faith in Christ to coordinate and lead the music ministries of our church, in part through playing the organ for worship services, directing the adult senior choir, and cultivating special music offerings.  Salary is negotiable, depending on education and experience.  

QUALIFICATIONS:  The successful candidate will be:  

⇀        A Christian committed to growing in his/her faith;

⇀        Trained in playing the organ for public worship, especially in leading congregational singing;

⇀        Skilled as a choir director who is able to recruit, train and nurture singers, in addition to other musicians, vocal or instrumental, solo or ensemble;

⇀        Capable of leading a broad range of musical worship styles.

RESPONSIBILITIES (10 -15 hours/wk):  

⇀        Play the organ/piano for all worship services.

⇀        Conduct effective weekly rehearsals of the adult senior choir.

⇀        Cultivate musical talents of congregational members and facilitate their participation in worship services.

⇀        Under the direction of the senior pastor, select music and plan worship services.

⇀        Coordinate and maintain schedule of special music offerings in a variety of musical styles, including but not limited to bell choir, junior choir, vocal or instrumental ensembles.

⇀        With the assistance of the Worship & Music Commission, be responsible for arranging for a substitute organist/pianist when absent.
