Ride Description
The leaves are just beginning to change ... hopefully, the foiliage will be peaking just in time for our event. Due to several road/bridge closures, this edition of the PA200k will offer several new roads along with our favorites of Mud Run, Cherry Valley, Sweet Hollow, and Headquarters Rd. There is a new section that avoids the dreaded Lower Saucon Valley climb in the beginning -- the back side was recently tar
and chipped, making for a hazardous descent -- so we'll be heading over to Gallows Hill Rd instead. We'll still climb Fox Gap but head over to Portland along a very scenic route near Lake Minsi. Since the Belvidere
Bridge is scheduled for construction, we'll cross over into NJ at Portland for a whole new section to Belvidere.

Another change that I hope you'll enjoy is a 1.4 mile section along the scenic Canal Towpath.  The canal path avoids the knee-busting climb up Bridgeton Hill Rd that can be a bit busy with traffic in the late afternoon. Instead, we climb up to Chestnut Ridge via Red Cliff Rd that I think you'll like a whole
bunch more than Bridgeton Hill.

As shown in the route profile, there are several steep, extended climbs.  A triple or 39x27 is highly recommended.
