Tom's Family

Here are some pictures of Tom's mom Pat Kramer, and his nephew Timmy Gremba during a visit to the Cambodian temple in Maryland.

It was still under construction at the time.

Click on it above to see what it looked like when it was finished.

It's interesting to imagine a bit of Cambodia on the outskirts of Washington D.C.

Below right is Chamroeun, Pat and Timmy on the Mall in Washington DC. We all had a great time ! On the left is Tom's dad Raymond in front of a Shinto temple in Japan before the war. He's in the back row, third from the right. Click on it to get a bigger view.

Chamroeun's family

Here are some pictures of Tom with Chamroeun's brother Kimsour, his wife Lasy and their youngun's .. Kimsath and Vandy.

They were stuck in Khao-I-Dang for about five years (courtesy of the Khmer Rouge ) before we got them here by sponsoring them.

Here's a picture from a trip to Atlantic City.

On the right is Chamroeun's mom (Sek Van) and sister (Sunnary) in Cambodia during better times. The marks on mom's neck are from something Cambodians do when they're sick or have a fever, called coining. They rub a coin against the skin (which produces the marks) to alleviate the illness.

Below left is Chamroeun's dad. On the right is us with Sanun Ratana (College of Fine Arts, Bangkok), Chum Ngek, Say Sara, Cheatah Ung and some other Thai and Cambodian musician and dance friends during the Smithsonian Folk Life Festival in Wash. DC several years ago.
