Starry Eyed Enterprise

Fall of 1997, Donna Lee introduced her new company, Starry Eyed Enterprise and the original designs of her four new series of ornaments. After retiring from Hallmark in 1993, Donna realized she missed the ornament and collector world, and she decided to form her own ornament company. Based on the reaction to Donna's first designs, the collectors everywhere are very thankful.

She doesn't just get orders for her new designs; she has been getting notes and letters from collectors who have followed her work since she did her first ornament back in 1975. In today's collectible market, it is unusual for collectors to get in on the beginning of a new collection and yet have the benefit of an established artist.

Donna's original design are still available, but each is a first in a series, and will eventually be retired. Every one of her ornaments are individually numbered on a miniature gold-plated medallion that is attached to the hanger. The medallions have a reproduction of Donna's signature on one side, and on the other side have the production mark and the number of the piece within that production run.

Today, Donna announces her next four designs. Each represents the third edition in a series of the original four designs. The detail on Donna's newest creations matches her work on the first designs and is simply amazing and must be seen to be believed. Sculpting has always been a passion of Donna's and that is indeed evidenced by the work and soul she has put into each and every one of these four new ornaments.

Harriet the Angel is the First Edition in the Follow Your Star series. Darling little Harriet is trying very hard to "follow her star" which just happens to be dangling from a twig tied to Harriet's head! Just as a carrot is dangled before a horse, this 24k gold-plated star is dangling before Harriet, and she is going after it with everything she's got. Harriett is concentrating so hard, even the tip of her little tongue is sticking out! Donna Lee is well known for the angels she has created, and Harriet will be no less famous than the rest. From the expression on Harriet's face, to the beautiful lavender dress with the red bow, Donna has once again created angel perfection. Harriet is priced at only $12.00 plus $3.95 shipping and handling.

Santa's House is the First Edition in the Santa's Neighborhood series. The detail in this ornament cannot be mentioned enough. It may well be the most detailed ornament ever seen on the market. All of Donna's talent has been put to work on Santa's House. Everything on this house has been sculpted; nothing is painted on. The outside of Santa's House has toy soldiers, candy canes framing the doorway, a wreath, and, of course, a red door. Two turrets are on either side, one with a rounded top; the other with a pointed star. A star is atop on turret, and a weather vane with a reindeer adorns the other turret. Both the star and the weather vane are made of genuine pewter. And, that's just the outside! Inside, as one might expect, we see Mr. and Mrs. Claus enjoying freshly baked cookies. Naturally, the Clauses would have a Christmas tree, and it is decorated with several ornaments and has wrapped packages waiting underneath. Upstairs, a completely furnished bedroom contains curtains, a window seat, and pictures on the walls. A little child is playing happily on the floor in this cozy scene. As stated before, the detail is simply amazing, and this is only a brief smattering of what you will see in Santa's House. Unbelievably, this ornament sells for only $25.00 plus $3.95 shipping and handling.

Santa & The Merry Christmas Wreath is the First Edition in the Shirt Sleeve Santa series. Santa is being kept very busy during his "off" months. Instead of vacationing and resting up for the big holiday months, he is doing odd jobs around the house. You can't blame Mrs. Claus for keeping him busy while she has the chance! The particular job Santa in engaged in at the moment is hanging the Merry Christmas Wreath. Santa has his sleeves rolled up, and he is marching off into action. Dressed comfortably in pants, a white shirt and suspenders, with a pair of comfortable work boots, Santa is ready to start the "honey-do" jobs. His well-worn hammer is made of pewter which is just one of the quality touches to this ornament. But, the real beauty lies in the sculpting of Santa's face. Donna Lee truly has a gift when it comes to sculpting life and expression into a character's face, and this Santa is probably one of the best examples of her talent. Santa & The Merry Christmas Wreath will sell for $18.00 plus $3.95 for shipping and handling.

Last but certainly not least is Dorothy, the First Edition in the Teddy Bear Family series. Dorothy is the epitome of a perfect choir member. Any choir director would be thrilled to have just one member elicit the kind of enthusiasm Dorothy is exhibiting. She is literally singing her heart out. In fact, Dorothy is singing with such gusto, her beautiful blue flowing dress is actually billowing out around her! Donna has created Dorothy in such a way, it looks though Dorothy is actually swaying to her own music. It's really quite a remarkable pose Dorothy is striking. It certainly makes you wonder what a song she is singing! The dress Dorothy is wearing has been mentioned, her face is a cream-colored outline, and she has a tan body. But, Dorothy's crowning glory lies in her earrings. 24 karat gold-plated earrings are dangling saucily from Dorothy's ears. Now, who can resist a bear with star earrings, singing to the heavens? As reasonably priced as the other ornaments, Dorothy sells for $16.00 plus $3.95 shipping and handling.

The boxes these ornaments arrive in have not even been discussed yet. Imagine a rich, deep hunter green with tiny gold stars patterned onto a treasure chest. This treasure chest will open onto a stunning green satin, which billows around the ornament nestled inside It truly is the ultimate in packaging. But, the ornament themselves are so wonderful, who is surprised at this magnificent packaging?

As you will see for yourself when you order these exquisite ornaments, the detail is truly remarkable. From the lavish treasure chest to the tiniest detail on Santa's Coach House, these ornaments will delight all who encounter them.
