I was born on June 25, 1931, in a farmhouse in Hardy, Nebraska on a hot summer day during harvest time the third son of Mary and Arthur Jensby. My paternal grandparents both came from Denmark in their teens, my maternal grandfather came from France via Canada, and my maternal grandmother came from England

1954 graduated University
of Nebraska with a B.A. in Speech and Theatre. 1954-56 United States
Navy aboard the U.S.S. Princeton (aircraft carrier) operating in the Far
East. 1957 graduated University of California Los Angeles (UCLA)
with a M.A. in theatre. 1963 graduated University of Southern California
with a Ph.D. in Communications (Drama). 1983 graduated Columbia
Teachers College with an M.A. in Teaching English as a Second Language
(TESOL).
I began my college teaching career in the fall of 1957 at the age of 26 at Long Beach State College, Long Beach California. I was a part-time teacher in the Speech/Theatre Department.

MY TWO MOST SIGNIFICANT PROFESSIONAL ACHIVEMENTS
1. 1963. Established the theatre program at Nassau Community College. The first New York Community College to integrate professional actors with student actors and the first to commission scripts by professional playwrights.
2. 1994. Selected to be Coordinator of the English as a Second Language
Program with a subsequent growth from 250 students to more than 600 students
from over 60 countries. Designed a high tech computer/language lab for
the exclusive use of ESL students.
